It was a pleasure to be representing luxury glamping amongst the great and the good at the 10th Devon Tourism Awards run by Visit Devon at the Riviera Centre in Torquay.

There were inspirational speeches from Michael Smith, Co-Founder of the Venus Company whose company philosophy is to support and help develop sustainability in the regional economy through enterprise and innovation, and Kate Salmon, part of the ‘Row for the Ocean’ rowing team that became the fastest all-female team in the 2018 Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge. Everyone was also amazed by a spectacular LED juggling show.

There were a record 240 entrants with 88 finalists across 30 categories in the awards. We were finalists in the Best New Tourism Business category, sponsored by Soundview, and we received bronze.

This was our fourth nomination and second award within our first year of launching so we are thrilled. It would not have been possible to launch last year and have a great first season without the hard work and support of many people so a HUGE THANK YOU goes to our family and the many local people and businesses who continue to support us.

The work doesn’t stop there though as next year we will also be opening Valleyside Barn – a rustic wedding venue and events space.
