Season 2 – let’s go glamping!

Jul 7, 2020

Good to Go accreditationAA Covid-19 Confident accreditationIt may be three months later than planned but we have finally opened the doors for our second season of glamping.

The coronavirus has meant we have made a few changes, but the good news is we have received the Visit England ‘Good to go’ and AA ‘COVID-19 Confident’ accreditation which means we have conducted the necessary risk assessments, put in place the necessary safety measures and staff training to reopen safely, in line with the UK’s government and trade association guidelines.

Our main priority when working out how to adapt was our staff and guest safety and importantly the ability for our guests to have a relaxing Valleyside Escapes Denand fun glamping holiday.

What have we changed?
Most of the changes are additional cleaning measures we are implementing on changeover days so should have minimal impact on guests. Other changes we have tried to keep to a minimum, for example, while we removed the soft furnishings from the children’s den we have replaced them with a table and stools providing the perfect place to complete one of our new nature activities and create a masterpiece for our picture competition. Other items will be rotated between guests and we have also installed a hand sanitiser station at the entrance.

Some new features
This year we had already planned to introduce some new features – our beautifully hand-crafted oak signs for each tent by our good friend at RJP Woodwork. Outside we have wooden benches alongside the fire pits – a prime position to wait for a s’mores, of which the kits are available in our honesty shop. We’ve also added some more facilities to our honesty shop – a games locker and huge map of Devon to see where you may want to visit.

We want our guests to be reassured that we have made our site as safe as it possibly can be during these changing times and provide additional details in our pre-arrival information. In return we just ask our glampers to practice regular hand-washing and respect the social distancing guidance, especially when out and about in Devon so that our local communities remain protected.

It’s going to be a busy summer but we’re well and truly ready to go glamping!
