Today marks the start of Visit England’s annual #EnglishTourismWeek, which celebrates everything that is fantastic about English holidays including the many diverse places to stay (obviously luxury glamping in Devon being one!) and the countless fun attractions and interesting places to explore. To kick off the week we’re running a special offer – receive 15% off a 2022 mid-week break in May, June or September when you book during 17th-28th March 2022.
Mid-week breaks with babies and toddlers
We can make your stay as stress-free as possible and supply travel cots, high chairs, steps for bathroom, children’s cups, plates and cutlery and a selection of toys. For very young babies we also have a bouncer and play mat so you don’t feel like you’ve bought everything apart from the kitchen sink with you! On-site we have a play area with bespoke mud kitchen and a complimentary children’s nature trail. There’s lots for little ones to do locally too – just next door we have the Devon Railway Centre with train rides and indoor and outdoor play areas. If you would like to see some animals the Donkey Sanctuary, the Big Sheep, Quince Honey Farm and Pennywell Farm make a great day out. For rainy days there is Bear Town – an indoor tiny town for children to immerse themselves in, the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth (the largest in the UK!) or Tiverton and Exeter have museums with lots of interesting things to see and explore.
Mid-week breaks for couples
If you’re planning an escape to the country with your other half or a short break with another couple our safari tents comfortably accommodate two couples. There are various walks that you can do direct from our doorstep and the Fisherman’s Cot pub on the river is a five minute stroll for evening meals and Bickleigh Mill just next door serving breakfast, lunch and cream teas. There’s lots of picturesque and scenic places to discover – our favourites include Canonteign Falls, the Tarr Steps on Exmoor, Haytor on Dartmoor and Wimbleball Lake. If you’re seeking some heritage and culture 25 minutes takes you to Exeter where there is the beautiful Cathedral, underground passages and vibrant quay. There are many country houses and castles to explore such as Powderham Castle and Fursdon House just a five minute drive.
Getting close to nature
If you would like to get some fresh country air there are two national Trust properties Killerton and Knightshayes within 20 minutes, and Exmoor and Dartmoor national parks with 45 minutes. If it’s sea air you’re seeking you can reach the beautiful north and south coasts within an hour.
We hope to welcome you soon to make everlasting holiday memories. To check availability and book click here and use code ETWspecial.
