After having a fun and festive Christmas it is now time to re-focus. 2019 will be our first full season and we can’t wait to welcome returning and new guests when we open on the 29th March.

New features on our glampsite

We have around 12 weeks to get ready and our first job is a few extra features to keep the kids entertained. In the children’s play area we’re building a mud kitchen so they can really get close to nature and let their imagination run wild. Inside the tents we’re transforming the area under the cabin beds into a cosy den with bean bags, rugs and fairy lights. During the school holidays we will also host a special treasure hunt.

In addition, the old donkey shed is being transformed into the Valleyside Hut – an honesty shop selling some essential items, snacks, local and (hopefully!) home-grown produce.

Glamping cuisine and entertainment

Whilst holidaying with us we can help take all the work out of preparing your evening meal. This year you can buy a Paella meal kit – all the ingredients and equipment so you can cook on the Kadai BBQ al fresco.

After dinner you could try out a new game that we have discovered and hire the ‘shuffle board’. It doesn’t require any knowledge just an eye for sliding counters into slots – simple, fun, anyone can join in and is guaranteed to be equally frustrating and competitive! There will be a 2019 leader board and the champion at the end of the season will win a special prize.

Activity weekends at Valleyside Escapes

We have already announced the first of our activity weekends – ‘All things apple’. In September we’re hosting two events where you can join us in our orchard to learn about different varieties of apples and help collect, crush and press them, and then enjoy a tasting session of fresh juice, local cider, chutneys and more.
